Got a little one who is all speed, no turns on the ski hills? Hard to watch as a parent, isn’t it? Here’s how one father solved the problem. Just prior to descending down the hill, he said to his litter, “OK kids, this time, let’s go for style points.” Lo’ and behold, he had his kids doing turns down — rather than bombing — the entire length of the ski trail.
Other tricks to get kids to slow down on the slopes? Play Red Light, Green Light (helps with stopping, too. As kids get older, you can have them work on “hockey stops.”), and Follow the Leader. With both, let the kids be the leader often, of course!
